Hi Cathy and same to you.
That meat you speak of will still be fine. Just begin airing it as if you were just starting. All that happens is that it hasn't progressed through many bacterial stages since an aerobic environment is necessary for this.

Scott just a quick question about high meat. I put some heart and liver/organic meat away in glass pyrex container a month or so ago but I forgot to air it. Is this still ok to use as high meat or have I ruined it?

So gglad my last post came through :)

Thanks Keith, the new year is off to a great start.
Still not sure who durianrider/Harley is or why people find it necessary to mask their identity on these forums. Or perhaps I do know why...!
I'm also at a loss as to why the raw vegan community is so opposed to the primal diet. Aren't we all attempting to achieve the same thing albeit through slightly different means? These false, irrational and baseless youtube posts you refer to do nothing to help either party.
If I started spending alot of time attempting to debunk other nutritional protocols rather than focussing on my own objective, I'd probably have to start wondering if it were other people, or infact myself who I was trying to convince..!

Hi Scott
Hope the new year is going well for you.
Just been laying in bed listening to the rain on the roof, and decided to get up for a while and check your sites.

Just a quick word on the vegan guy, durianrider. i think you do know him. Real name Harley Juhnstone, 24hour bike endurance champ, etc.
Bananabikini sounds a bit sus, i could be wrong, but may be an undercover banana(or durian?) The plot thickens!! :-)

There's been a lot of posts on these sites on youtube-

raw meat eating rots teeth! aajonus vonderplanitz got it wrong!

aajonus vonderplanitz aka primal diet gets debunked by 100% raw vegan ultra endurance athlete!!

Hi bananabikini,
As I said, I don't have any personal account of the event, only what I've read in PD newsletters so I have little evidence to either support or deny aajonus's claims. However, since aajonus has made the claim and provided some evidence then I see no point in attempting to disprove his story. I see many more reasons why this could have happened as opposed to reasons why he would fabricate the whole thing.
He looked ill to me back in October, but 12 months prior he looked like the fittest, healthiest 60 year old I have seen, after 40 years or so on his diet. It would be irrational to suggest that one more year on the diet could have caused his poor condition. Comparing him to me would also be irrational since there is almost 30 years age difference.
I would visit a hospital if I or anyone in my family was faced with a life threatening medical emergency. I can't see this happening from eating food as I know it. I have never had to advise anyone on what to do if they become ill from the food on a PD since it is yet to happen. However I do advise to use caution when beginning to use high meat since some may be less tolerant of it's effects and this may cause panic.
Currently I don't have any pets as such. If I raised animals for the purpose of consumption then I would eat them. I wouldn't eat animals I kept as companions.
I don't know Dr Graham, but as a raw vegan guru, no doubt he has very exposed abdominals. Sounds like he's just as confused with walking as he is with nutrition.
I attended the raw games as a volunteer to assist my good friend Kieba (Dawn Blacklidge) who was a co-organizer of the event. Kieba is a great athlete herself, but neither of us had much spare time to compete. However I did compete in the first round of the 40 yard dash (the photo you refer to) which I won. I did not contest the final. There was no bench press event, although there was a strongman competition, which again I could not contest.
None of what I do from a nutritional (and philosophical) perspective is about comparing myself to others. I just try to be the best I can, and I assume others do the same. It is also none of my business what others think of me or my methods. I've never heard of 'durianrider' nor been challenged to any contest. If I did I would likely laugh it off just as aajonus has done since I have nothing to prove. I do know that no-one will ever have the capacity own me, since I'm not for sale.

thanks for replying scott. much appreciated.

you really believe aajonus got kidnapped by a drug cartel etc and injected with swine flu? :)

i read his book 'we want to live' and he talked abouts all the drugs he took and how he committed to a diet of 70% raw foods for life' page 43. his australian tour sickness just sounded like a poor excuse and your right, he looks really really ill to me and he isnt a tenth as fit as you are scott and he doesnt have much muscles either.

if you fed your child some raw animal and they got food poisoning, would you take em to hospital and what do advise people that eat rotten meat and get really really ill?

do you have any pets scott? would you eat them if they died? and im not making fun, but it seems like such a waste if our pet dies and we bury it and then go and buy some plastic wrapped animal that someone else had to kill, gut and clean and prep and we eat it with nice cutlery etc.

thanks for answering scott.

apparently dr douglas graham the 100% raw vegan guru, challenged aajonus to a friendly physical challenge but aajonus refused. ive met doug and he has a ripped 8 pak stomach!! and can walk across a football field on his hands! impressive!

how did you go at the raw olympics scott. how did you go in that sprint race photo you put up?
did you and robert cheeke or the other vegans from www.veganbodybuilding.com have a bench press comp?

there is some australian raw vegan dude on youtube called 'durianrider' whom has challenged you or any other primal dieter to a friendly comp. cardio followed by a bench press comp. 500$ prize money. he says he wants to 'own you'.. :)

sounds like some trash talking to me!! come on scott you gonna shut this dude up or what? :)

Hello, Scott! Yes, both Aajonus and Jeff Slay told me about how you and Jeff made the PD workshop a success despite Aajonus' unavailability. You have since read the newsletter describing the incident which somewhat disabled him and you have seen the newsletter giving third party verification, but people reading your blog have not seen these so it must appear pretty mysterious. If anyone wants to subscribe to view all the newsletters which are archived, all the interviews including the one about the swine flu hoax, read his articles and so on, they can subscribe at http://www.wewant2live.com/site/811618/form/169529.
It just occurred to me today that I would like to re-connect with you and the Primal Dieters 'down under'. I will be checking your blog more often. You might appreciate some videos on You Tube under the name of wildandraw.
P.S. I see your message with Michael about chicken. My wife Barbara and I have a recipe that makes it taste great; we go through about 2 1/4 pounds of chicken per week.

Good question. When I saw Aajonus on the Gold Coast it was the first time I had seen him in about 12 months. He looked terrible, very thin and pale, blood shot eyes and noticeably fatigued. He admitted to feeling tired and having lost weight whilst in the Phillipines but did not ellaborate. This was 2 days before he gave the workshop. I thought he was experiencing a regular (albeit quite severe) detoxification but he has since revealed the shocking truth behind his illness. Apparently whilst travelling through the Phillipines exploring possible retreat sites, he was seized by drug cartel associates (presumably) and injected with an unknown substance which he believes was intended to give the appearance that he had contracted swine flu. He gives a thorough account of this in his 2 most recent newsletters but I have not spoken to him personally about the matter.
Nevertheless, despite his excuse, there are other quite feasable reasons why someone might be induced to vomit sporadically which are not related to food poisoning. The most common one on a raw food diet is toxins being dumped into and removed via the stomach. These toxins are usually dislodged from there storage sites upon beginning a cleansing type diet (including veganism) or at any time when the body feels the opportunity warrants a 'healing crisis'.
Parasites, bacteria, viruses and fungi are not the enemy. They help to perform the function of regenerating cellular waste when the body is in such a state that it cannot cope with the task itself. I have never experienced or witnessed any illness or disease that can be logically linked to any of these factors as causative. Your common sense in this case has been infiltrated by big pharma who want you to believe this theory. Experiment for yourself and you'll soon be convinced of their deceptive ways.
If the situation warranted it, of course I would kill my own animals (and plants) in order to survive. We have most definitely been socially conditioned to view real food as repulsive and the alternative highly processed foods as acceptable. Who do you think is responsible for this view? Agribussiness is one of the largest industries in the world (along with pharmaceuticals and telecommunications) and they rely on this condition entirely for their fortunes. At this time I have people who look after my food production, but at some time in the future I would like to lessen my reliance on them and live self sufficiently.
I'm glad you're looking to optimize your health/appearance as this shows alot of self respect. I'm sure you've read my views on veganism on this site, but to reiterate, I believe you will require a more sustainable regenerative element to your diet (such as raw meat) in the near future in order to maintain your lean mass. Very few people do well long term on a vegan diet but I'm happy to discuss this further if you wish and answer any other questions you might have along the way.
